Pastoral Care

Pastoral care at West London Academy is based on the philosophy of developing care, understanding and mutual respect. We seek a joint approach from all those involved and connected with the Academy, the staff, students, parents/carers an approach which is based upon a recognition of the dignity and self-esteem of each individual.

The Pastoral System at West London Academy is organised by the Key Stage Learning Leaders and Managers. Each Key Stage Learning Leader is responsible to the Vice Principal, Student and Family Services who in turn liaises with the Principal. This system focuses on supporting all children and young people to ensure that they reach their full potential both in terms of their learning as well as their personal and social development.

Every member of the Academy community is also a member of one of the three Houses in the Academy. Each House is made up of a vertical group of forms - allowing all age groups to belong to a common grouping. The 3 Houses, Wembley, Lords and Ascot, are each led by members of the Academy Leadership Team and provide opportunities for healthy competition.
