The Academy Primary School curriculum includes the full requirements of the National Curriculum as laid down by Government.
In The Early Years (Nursery and Reception) children follow the Foundation Stage Curriculum based on The Early Learning Goals covering; knowledge and understanding of the world, creative development, personal, social and emotional development, communication, language and literacy, physical development and mathematical development.
In Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils follow The National Curriculum. This covers the core areas of English, Mathematics and Science, as well as the foundation areas of Design & Technology, History, Geography, Art, Music, ICT and PE. These areas are taught through a thematic and creative and approach. In addition, all pupils are involved in a programme of Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education which tackles matters such as morals, bullying, social values, sex education and health issues. Alongside this, pupils follow an agreed syllabus for RE that covers knowledge and understanding of different faiths.
