High School Curriculum
The Academy High School curriculum includes the full requirements of the National Curriculum as laid down by Government with an enhanced focus on the Academy specialisms of Sport and Enterprise.
In Years 7, 8 and 9 most students follow a core curriculum. This covers English, mathematics, science, design & technology, humanities, art, music, drama and sport. Many students also follow a course in Spanish. In addition, all students are involved in a programme of Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education
which tackles matters such as morals, civics, social values, sex education and careers education. Alongside this, students follow an enrichment course that
covers Life Skills through the ASDAN programme and some less formal learning to complement the formality of the National Curriculum. Enterprise is an interwoven component throughout all areas of the curriculum at all Key Stages.
