High School Curriculum

Entry to the wide variety of courses at Post-16 depends upon performance at GCSE level and a student's individual suitability for a particular course. At present, courses offered are the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) in Years 12 and 13, BTEC and AS in Year 12 and BTEC and A2 Levels in Years 13 and 14. Government initiatives in the area means that the range of courses changes from year to year and option guidance is made available to Year 11 students before Christmas each year through a Post-16 options guidance booklet, talks and interviews.

In addition to their academic studies, sixth form students can continue with sport, and Key Skills courses. Post 16 life also includes debates and productions and students are also encouraged to support the whole Academy through trips and visits, community activities and Post-16 Academy duties. Whilst no specific uniform is specified for the sixth form, we do insist on business dress for all sixth formers as part of our mission to prepare and reflect the business world we are preparing our students for.

Enterprise is an interwoven component throughout all areas of the curriculum at all Key Stages.
